The NRCME will require providers of the CMV Driver’s Medical Examination to attend “required” training and pass a “Certification Test”.

News:

On June 30, 2010, FMCSA delayed the NRCME final rule to February 28, 2010. No specific reasons were given for the additional delay It was to go to the Secretary of DOT next month, but that was delayed to October 12, 2010.

FMCSA revised dates for the NRCME Final Rule:

To OST: 10/12/2010
To OMB: 11/16/2010
OMB Clearance: 2/15/2011
Publication: 2/28/2010

FMCSA is holding two public meetings to discuss the NRCME and to allow your input. You can go to www.NRCME.FMCSA.DOT.gov for the date, location and description of the meetings. I will be attending the meeting in Washington, DC.

OMB Clearance: 12/23/2010
Publication: 1/6/2011

In June, FMCSA again delayed the proposed dates for the NRCME program due to lack of staffing and unatnticipated issues requiring further analysis. Check back on this site in May for the latest updated information.
