May 17, 2011 DOT Medical Exam Training

A TeamCME/ACA DOT Medical Exam Training is scheduled for August 26-27 in Philadelphia at a hotel location near the airport. Only the DOT Medical Exam course will be offered. Course times are Friday 6-9pm, Saturday 8am-6pm. The ACA and TeamCME websites will have all other details available in the next couple of days with registration instructions.

May 13th, 2011 Update

FMCSA continues to project the publishment of the National Registry for Dec 9, 2011 consistant with Chief Medical Officer Bennisse Lester, MD statement on April 13th. The public docket for the new Proposed Rule closes this month. Go to the NRCME staus page for contact information for the public docket.

April 13th Bennisse Lester, MD, FMCSA Chief Medical Officer, stated on the listserve that “Based on recent public notice regarding the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiner (NRCME), the final rule is due to be promulgated at the end of this year.

March 9th, FMCSA announced the delay of the Final Rule to December 9th, 2011.

March 16th, FMCSA publishes new Proposed Rule for the NRCME. FMCSA proposes to require motor carriers to verify that driver medical exams are performed by Certified Medical Examiners in the National Registry. Those interested in making comments specific to this proposal should send them to Docket No. FMCSA-2008-0363.

April 13th, 2011 Final Rule Update

Although a new National Registry Proposed Rule with limited scope was recently announced, FMCSA did not change the December 9th projected date for the National Registry Final Rule. Benisse Lister, MD, FMCSA Chief Medical Officer states that “Based on recent public notice regarding the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (NRCME), the final rule is due to be promulgated at the end of this year.”

March 16, 2011 New Proposed Rule NRCME

Today FMCSA published a new Proposed Rule and opened a public docket for the NRCME. FMCSA proposes to require motor carriers to verify that a driver’s medical exam has been performed by a Certified Medical Examiner in the National Registry.

March 9th, 2011 Final Rule Delayed

The Final Rule for the National Registry has been delayed to December 9th, 2011. For those that want to fill their CE credits for 2011 and learn the FMCSA medical standards before the “Required” training begins in early 2012, TeamCME/ACA will have 1 training convention in late August. February 17, 2011 NRCME Delayed to October 7, 2011

Today, FMCSA added a two week delay to the projected NRCME Final Rule publication date. The new projected date is October 7, 2011. In the past, delays have usually been for at least two months at a time. A two week delay may be an indication that further delays are less likely.

February 5, 2011 TeamCME Adds “Unbranded” NRCME Status Page

TeamCME has a new “White/Unbranded” NRCME Description and Status website page. This page is similar to the current NRCME status already available, but removal of all TeamCME branding and commercialization allows this page to be used by government, associations, state boards, and other public websites to direct their users who are interested in keeping current of the NRCME and related regulations. The page can not be accessed thru the TeamCME website. The page is updated monthly. January 10, 2011 NRCME Delay, On-line Alcohol Training

TeamCME members can now take advantage of at 25% discount on Lifeloc Technologies Online Breath Alcohol Technician Qualification Training. Members must access the TeamCME/Lifeloc webpage thru the TeamCME website. After completing this training you can get your proficiency requirement completed with a TeamCME state trainer or thru 1-on-1 webconference training with TeamCME.

FMCSA announced another 6 week delay for the National Registry Final Rule. The Final Rule is projected to be published on September 23rd.

TeamCME announces a new Limited Membership at a reduced cost for offices that do not require the benefits from full membership. And, there are now two additional new membership benefits.

A new Limited TeamCME membership is available for $19.95 per month. The Limitied Membership benefits include: office location and information on the TeamCME map, Monthly TeamCME newsletter, and physician consultation with TeamCME on complex DOT physical exams. Full membership with/without online scheduling is still available for $49.95 and $39.95 monthly.
